The Avenue of the Knights in Rhodes

The Avenue of the Knights, Ippotòn, is a marvel unique in the world. It 'a long and steep road, lined with palaces of the Ottoman period and the inns of the Knights’ Order, known as "Hotels of languages" as the order was divided by languages and there was no concept of nation. These inns also served as accommodation for pilgrims who stopped in Rhodes going to Jerusalem.

The Hospital of the Knights, XV century, was restored by the Italians during their occupation and today houses the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, where you can admire the magnificent statue of the Aphrodite of Rhodes of I century BC.
