The famous Colossus of Rhodes (305 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the World, was a statue of Helios, the God of the sun, in cast bronze and silver: it was 40 meters high, located in the port of Mandraki and held a flame in a hand. It took 12 years of work and collapsed due to an earthquake in 227 BC.
